GCSE and RSL Music Workshops - Feb 2022

Dear All

I am delighted to offer a free GCSE and RSL Network Workshop for all Heads of Music in Hampshire.

The GCSE workshop will run on:

  • Monday 7 February from 4pm – 4:45pm on Teams

The RSL workshop will run on:

  • Tuesday 8 February from 4pm – 4:45pm on Teams.

The GCSE workshop will focus on the exam element of the course and will be generic across all boards. The current Year 11 students will be the first cohort to sit an official exam now for 2 years due to the lockdowns. This session will provide an opportunity to look at successful strategies for ‘learning content’, memory recall and approaches to different question types.

Five very experienced Heads of Music from The Burgate School, Brookfield Community School, The Romsey School, Mountbatten School and The Vyne who are currently delivering AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Educas will present at the session. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and share your own ideas too.

The RSL workshop will focus on the ‘live’ performance unit of the course following the set brief, time allowance and assessment criteria from the board. The workshop will also focus on planning and delivery of the RSL optional units. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and share your own ideas too.

The RSL workshop will be delivered by Chris Armstrong (Head of Music at Crookhorn College) who is running the course with great success.

Both workshops will run on Teams and once you have signed up using the Google Doc link below you will receive the respective Teams invite. Please can you sign up by Friday 28 January 2022
